After the seventh straight primary win in Indiana last night, Donald Trump supporters are doing a victory lap, Ted Cruz supporters are shell-shocked and asking "what just happened" as Cruz abruptly drops out of the presidential race, the RNC does a complete 180 and publicly calls Trump the presumptive nominee within minutes of the polls closing, some from the far left are warning Democrats that Trump can beat Hillary in the general, conflicting reports about John Kasich suspending his campaign, and the media is writing the Republican establishment obituary.
Two expressions come to mind right about now; 1) I smell a rat and; 2) When you least expect it...........
TED CRUZ - WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN SATURDAY AND MONDAY?
On May 2, 2016, Bloomberg Politics reported on a Cruz capaign event in California that occurred on Saturday, May 30th, where an "an organizational blitz to win over California’s most committed Republican activists," was reported part of a "do-or-die" effort to stop Trump. According to that report Cruz was mounting a "go for broke" California campaign.
“Year after year y’all are used to being treated by Republicans like an ATM, to take your money and spend it in other states,” Cruz told more than 500 party activists. “Well I can tell you right now, we’re going to spend more money in California than we raise in California.”
Cruz said his campaign has plans to compete in each of California’s 53 congressional districts, each of which will give three delegates to the top vote-getter. The state awards other delegates, too, for a total of 172; a candidate needs 1,237 delegates to win the nomination outright.
In that report they indicated they were depending on an Indiana win as part of the stop Trump effort, so many would justifiably think that after Cruz suffered a landslide defeat in Indiana, he simply decided to throw in the towel, but other reports indicate that Cruz was planning to suspend his campaign before Tuesday's Indiana primary even began.
Byron York at the Washington Examiner published an article this morning titled "Stunned Cruz supporters ask: What happened? , where note a couple key bits of information showing that Cruz planned, in advance of Tuesday's primary, so drop out of the presidential race.
A lot of Cruz staff, who normally worked at headquarters in Houston and who rarely if ever traveled with him, were there in Indianapolis. --- Cruz's mother Eleanor Darragh, who has taken an active behind-the-scenes role in the campaign but almost never appeared on stage, was there, along with his cousin Bibi. --- Cruz's "meltdown" Tuesday morning when went completely off the rails attacking Trump, are just a few examples of the clues York provided which led him to the following belief:
All that — aides who traveled to Indianapolis, a family gathered — suggested Cruz did not make a spur-of-the-moment decision to quit, that it had in fact been something he saw coming and contemplated for days. And on Tuesday night, he did it.
Which leaves us with the question of what happened between Saturday's California Cruz campaign in event, the "go for broke" last push for California, and his constant vows to stay in until July and attempt to force a contested convention.... and Monday when he had to be arranging to have staff that did not travel with him normally, along with his mother and cousin, along with other signs that Cruz was preparing to pull out even before Indiana's polls opened, that caused such an abrupt turn-around.
THE RNC DOES A COMPLETE 180
The Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus sent out a Tweet on the social media platform Twitter, stating ".@realDonaldTrump will be presumptive @GOP nominee, we all need to unite and focus on defeating @HillaryClinton #NeverClinton," at 6:05pm on May 3, 2016.
https://twitter.com/Reince/status/727665447684820992
It could be argued that Priebus was simply acknowledging reality, Trump is the only candidate that can mathematically get to the 1,237 delegates before convention. It can also be argued that the Cruz campaign notified the RNC beforehand to inform them that Cruz would be dropping out of the presidential race.
What cannot be argued is Trump still needs nearly 200 delegates to reach the 1,237 required to become the presumptive nominee, nor can Priebus's past assertions on "party rules" be argued.
April 19, 2016 - Politico
Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus reiterated to House Republicans Tuesday morning that the party's eventual nominee will have to earn 1,237 delegates, and that any change in the GOP's nominating rules will have to be approved by all delegates to the convention.
April 11, 2016, Priebus tweeted the following statement "The rules were set last year. Nothing mysterious --nothing new. The rules have not changed. The rules are the same. Nothing different."
April 5, 2015 - The Hill
Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus on Tuesday pushed back on critics of the GOP's presidential nominating process.
"This is a nomination for the Republican Party," Priebus said during an interview on WTMJ in Wisconsin. "If you don't like the party, then sit down. I mean, the party is choosing a nominee."
On April 9, 2016, Priebus also highlighted the newly created "Guide to the Republican National Convention," page, explaining how the process works, providing a video and even creating a handy little graphic making it clear that a candidate must have 1,237 delegates:
Perhaps readers can understand our cynicism and utter disbelief that a man that basically told voters to sit down and shut up, insisting that no one that hasn't reached the magic 1,237 delegates according to the "rules" he is such a stickler for, would do a complete 180 and say Trump will be the presumptive nominee within minutes of polls closing in Indiana, but more importantly before Trump even reaches that number.
Below we see Priebus claim he is only stating the "obvious," but if that is true, then why didn't he make that statement after the April 26, 2016 contests when Cruz was mathematically eliminated and it was "obvious" that only Trump had the chance to obtain the 1,237?
JOHN KASICH - CONFLICTING REPORTS
Just hours after Priebus tweeted that Trump was the presumtive nominee, John Kasich's chief strategist responded on Twitter, stating "Appreciate @Reince & his hard work for @GOP, but until someone has 1,237 bound delegates there is no presumptive nominee. CA here we come."
Now we see conflicting reports with some reporting that Kasich cancelled a scheduled event and has a statement scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, and some sources claim he is dropping out, and other reports stating Kasich has no plans to drop out.
MEDIA SURRENDERS - SAYS R.I.P GOP
The New York Daily News has written the "obituary" for the Republican party establishment, saying "What Donald Trump really did was take out the Republican Party," following up with "So this wasn’t just the end of the Cruz campaign in Indiana. It was the end of what people are still calling the Republican establishment," and concluding with the following statement:
But the reason he thinks he can beat Hillary Clinton is because he just put an entire political party out of business. Republican Party. Just put an “i” in the middle. So the initials read this way: R.I.P.
The New York Times writes "It is the Republicans who are making a clear choice in 2016, one that seemed unimaginable a year ago: To stamp what they still like to call the party of Lincoln with the brand of Donald Trump."
CNN is declaring "The anti-Trump movement spent upwards of $75 million and ultimately lost."
WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT.... POSSIBLE FALSE FLAG EVENT
Does anyone else think the timing of all of the aforementioned points is just a little too coincidental? When has the political establishment "elite" ever given up without a fight? When has the media ever surrendered their preferred narrative which has consistently been #NeverTrump and all of a sudden is now #InevitableTrump?
I believe what we are watching last night and today is political theater and the back-room dealing, political establishment, corrupt "elite," are planning something big whether that is a possible false flag event, or a staged assassination attempt against Donald Trump, or a national crisis that requires locking down the country....... anything that will stop Donald Trump from becoming President of the United States of America.
When you least expect it..... that is when it will happen.
