    [ltr]Basra (IraqiNews.com) Basra province threatened to reveal corruption files related to the Electricity Ministry and called the Deputy Prime Minister, Hussein al-Shahristani to resign from his post for his failure in running the electricity file. [/ltr]

    [ltr]Basra Governor, Majid al-Nasrawi said in a press conference along with MPs from Basra “The electricity energy file in Iraq is not so difficult as some officials show, confirming presence of tarry in implementing the electricity projects in the province.”[/ltr]

    [ltr]“The reason behind the failure is the absence of well-established companies specialized in the energy where some projects adopted by floundering companies were halted in the province,” he added. [/ltr]

    [ltr]On other hand, MP Hussein al-Mansouri unveiled during the press conference that Basra has files of major corruption belonging to the electricity projects in Basra and that he will refer these files to the Integrity Commission. [/ltr]

    [ltr]For her part, MP Hayfa al-Atwani called the Deputy Prime Minister, Shahristani and the other officials responsible for the electricity file to quit for their failure to run this sector. [/ltr]

    [ltr]“All those in charge of the energy sector failed in rehabilitating this file over the past ten years,” she assured. [/ltr]
