    BAGHDAD/
Aswat al-Iraq: Iraqi diplomatic sources in Amman reported that the
Jordanian authorities recently rejected receiving Iraqi vice-president
Tariq al-Hashimi, according to Kuwaiti al-Qabas daily.

    The
news, published today, added that Hashimi's family, living in Amman for
the last few years, was told to leave after Jordanian government's
refusal to grant them residence permit, similar to other Iraqi
    opposition.

No Jordanian comment was announced on the news.

The source expected that the "cold" Jordanian reply was due to the recent Iraqi-Jordanian rapprochement.
