The Nikkei index rose Japanese shares to its highest level in 14 months on Thursday, with the decline in the yen against the dollar due to growing expectations that raises the Fed (US central bank) interest rates this month, after a rise on Wall Street to record levels.
The benchmark index rose 0.9 percent to close at 19,564.80 points, after touching its highest level since December 2015 at 19,668.01 points.
The indicator has risen 28 of the 33 sectoral indicator of the Tokyo Stock Exchange rallied by financial stocks supported by the rise in US Treasury yields tools while shares in export companies and found support in the decline of the yen.
The Topix index rose 0.75 percent wider to 1564.69 points, while the index Jah.ba.aks Nikkei-400 rose 0.76 percent to end the day at 14023.74 points.
