US Defense Secretary Jim Matisse said on Tuesday that Iranian missiles fired by Huthi militias should be stopped off Saudi Arabia permanently, Reuters reported.
"The Huthis are using Iranian-made missiles," Matisse told reporters aboard a plane that took him to Saudi Arabia where a regional tour begins on Wednesday.
A statement from the Pentagon said that during his tour, Matisse will address "efforts to counter destabilizing activities and defeat extremist terrorist organizations."
The term "destabilizing activities" is often used by the US Department of Defense to describe Iran's activities in the region.
Last week, Matisse said that Iran continues to act as a "source of terrorism and continues to sponsor insurgent activity," according to Reuters news agency.
