International coalition: Turkey gave "insufficient" warning before strikes in Syria and Iraq

    Release Date: 2017/4/26

    [Ayna - Baghdad]
The US-led coalition said Turkish troops had given coalition forces less than an hour before the air strikes that killed a large number of allied Kurdish fighters in Iraq and Syria.
"There was less than an hour of notice before the raids took place," US Air Force Col. John Dorian told a Pentagon briefing on Wednesday. "This is not enough time and this notification was, certainly, not coordination as you would expect from a partner and an ally in the fight against the preacher."
Durian said the US-led coalition "let the Turks know that the time allotted was not enough for us to ensure the safety of our troops on the ground." He said US forces were six miles away from the strikes, and the advice given by the Turks was too vague to enable them to respond effectively.
On the other hand, a spokesman for the International Coalition, that "terrorist advocate," used chlorine and mustard in the attack on Iraqi and coalition forces in Mosul on April 16.
