    Representative Mudar Al-Karawi confirmed today, Wednesday, that Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani fulfilled his pledge to accelerate investment in the largest gas field in Iraq.
    Al-Karawi said in an interview followed by Al-Iqtisad News, “The Council of Ministers, in its session yesterday, Tuesday, decided to proceed with the signing of the contract for the Mansouriya gas field, east of Diyala, between the Ministry of Oil/Central Oil Company and the coalition (the Chinese Jira Company and the Petro-Iraq Company) in the initials,” pointing out "Al-Sudani pledged to continue to end the problems that obstruct the development and investment of the field, which is considered the largest in the country in terms of its reserves."
    Al-Karawi added, “The field can, through the first stage of production, provide self-sufficiency in gas to operate the Mansouriya gas station with a capacity of up to 700 megawatts, and the possibility of supporting other stations on the outskirts of Baghdad via a main pipeline extending from Mansouriya to the vicinity of the capital, thus reducing the import bill by a percentage.” Not less than 15%.
    He pointed out that "the security disturbances delayed the file of investment and development of the Mansouriya gas field," adding, "But the situation now is different in light of popular support for all the government's steps in developing the oil and gas fields in Diyala, which will make the province another window to support the national economy with the possibility of generating major development projects."
