Baghdad Municipality has prepared a study for the establishment of a typical waste incinerators environmentally friendly aimed at generating electricity and disposal optimize them according to international standards.

He noted that the capital produces daily approximately 900 thousand tons of waste, revealing that the study confirms the generation of MW and one of the electric power for each (10 20) tons, and therefore, according to the study, the amount of energy produced from burning typical waste, up to 1000 MW.
And disclosed Raddad about the need for the capital of the Holocaust, amounting to (3 6) which must be distributed between both sides of Karkh and Rusafa, articulating that a single price of which up to $ 250 million, confirming its actions is completed and pending financial allocations for waste disposal in the best way according to the study.
And called for the need to speed up the implementation of the project , which will serve the Ministry of Electricity in the provision of energy, in addition to the Baghdad Municipality by creating an environmental clean atmosphere, which noted that it will contribute to the cancellation of the corresponding deformed areas of the capital after the closure of the landfill sites.
He stressed the media environment and solid waste Department director, that the study was completed, especially after the allocation of land, especially that is currently prevailing in the waste disposal through landfill operation process, is primitive as a result of the allocation of large land for landfills , exposing the ground to damage and therefore can not be tapped again .
He added, that the waste disposal process conducted through three phases, waste collection, and then transferred to manufacturing plants after reducing the outsole volume of shipments before you go to the final landfill sites, noting that his department has developed a plan for the disposal optimization of waste represented the establishment of nine manufacturing plants contributed to financial savings as well to improve other environmental aspects through the import and distribution of household plastic containers
