Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Wednesday that the upcoming elections will be held on schedule.
Abadi said in a speech delivered on his behalf MP Abbas al-Bayati Turkoman General Conference, "Victory is close to Nineveh, which is only days and cut off the head of the snake."
He added that "Turkmen are a basic nationality in Iraq and the political equation remains paralyzed without fair representation of all components, while pointing to the need to hold elections on time without delay."
He added that "Turkmans responded with rare courage to the Khwarij era," stressing that "Turkan is a basic nationality and not a third alongside the other nationalities and components of this people, which are authentic news for this country."
Iraq can not live without a nationality of its nationalities or a sect of its sects. Iraq without Turkmen is not an Iraq. No country or nation can abolish another nationality or erase its identity or its land. We must agree to live together in all governorates. Especially in Kirkuk. "
He pointed out that "to ensure the holding of elections on time is a clear message to adhere to democracy and the peaceful transfer of power, and we will push for the holding of elections on time without delay."
