    Shafaq News / Independent MP , Hussein al-Asadi announced on Thursday, filing a lawsuit against Vice President , Khudair al-Khozai and Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic, Naseer al-Ani for delaying the ratification of death sentences against hundreds of " terrorists

    ."
    “We made sure that Khozai did not approve a number of death sentences issued by the competent courts for being one of the issues that are considered as constitutional breach and at the same time a delay to the justice and a waste of the victim’s rights while retaining the public right, especially after the repeated escape of senior terrorists,” Asadi said at a news conference attended by " Shafaq News”.

    “Filing the lawsuit before the competent courts is a national and moral duty as a respect for the victims and application of the Constitution and the law”.

    Asadi called "all national, religious and popular powers to stand by this demand that express the conscience of the nation and defend its tragedy”.

    The Ministry of Justice has implemented recently death sentences against 20 convicted of terrorist acts, with the exception of someone convicted of a criminal charge, including two women and an Egyptian

    Iraq has been widely criticized a few months ago by human rights and UN organizations by recording a significant rise in executions this year

    Iraq was ranked the third in the world in implementing executions, according to reports of human rights organizations involved in fight against death penalty

    Figures of Amnesty International indicated that the executions reached more than 129 cases in 2012 , a double figure compared to the number of executions recorded in 2011 ( 68 cases at least) is the largest increase in the number of executions Iraq since 2005
