Qatar rejects the offer of "conditional" boycott countries to dialogue with them

    Monday 31 July

rejected the conditional offer by the four boycotting countries to reverse the boycott decision. Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani said that the boycott violates international laws and that the countries that initiated it stubbornly refuse to recognize it. His country rejects the list of demands made by the Arab countries besieging it, considering it a violation of international law. Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt have expressed their desire for dialogue with Qatar, subject to approval of all demands made at the beginning of the Gulf crisis.

"The four countries are ready to talk to Qatar on the condition that there is a practical and sincere desire to stop funding and support terrorism," the foreign ministers of the four countries said in Manama on Sunday.

UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed blamed Doha for any damage suffered by the Qatari citizen.

At a press conference held by the foreign ministers of the four countries in Manama, the UAE minister stressed that other measures could be taken against Qatar.

Bahrain's Foreign Minister, Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, who attended the meeting, said that the four countries' stance was consistent and united, stressing that the Qatari side should express "a genuine desire to stop supporting terrorism."

The four countries accused Qatar of obstructing the arrival of Qatari pilgrims to perform Hajj. Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said his country "welcomes Qataris to perform Hajj as well as other pilgrims," accusing the Qatari authorities of politicizing the issue.

"Qatar's request to internationalize the holy sites is aggressive and to declare war on the kingdom," Saudi Arabia-based al-Arabiya television quoted Al-Jubeir as saying on the sidelines of the Manama meeting.
