Muthanna sues the director of electricity distribution of the south to transfer the collection of energy in the province of investment

    02/08/2017

The Council of Muthanna province, on Tuesday, filed a lawsuit against the Director General of the electricity distribution of the South on the background of signing a contract to transfer the collection of electricity for investment.

A member of the provincial council Ammar al-Gharib said that "the Director General of the Electricity Distribution Company of the South signed a contract to allocate electricity Muthanna to an investment company."

He added that "this matter is contrary to the law, which prompted six members of the provincial council in addition to a number of civil society organizations to file a lawsuit against the Director General of Electricity South after he was warned earlier."

He said that "the investment of electricity has already begun in one of the neighborhoods of the city of Samawah contrary to the decisions of the provincial council."

It is noteworthy that most of the Iraqi provinces, especially the south, categorically rejected the issue of investment and privatization of electricity, stressing that it burdens the citizen. Jh
