The resignation of the Japanese government

Japan's cabinet on Thursday decided to resign ahead of cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
A statement issued by the Office of Abe, "The Prime Minister accepted requests to resign from all members of his government, during an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers," noting that "is expected to be announced within the next few hours of a new cabinet."
This came at a time when polls indicate that Abe's support rate in his country has fallen to its lowest level (less than 30%) since returning to power in December 2012.
Abe's popularity in recent months has been markedly disrupted, especially in light of the defeat of his Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in July's parliamentary elections, as well as accusations against the prime minister by his opponents of abuse of power.
Under the circumstances, the Prime Minister's Office announced government amendments Thursday to "support economic reforms. Abe returned to power in 2012 under the banner of pledging to revive the economy and consolidate Japan's defense capabilities. Sf
