China accuses America of violating its sovereignty

China has violated international law and endangered China's national security by sending a US Navy destroyer to carry out patrols in the disputed Spratly Islands area, the foreign ministry said.
"The US destroyer violated Chinese and international laws and undermined China's sovereignty and security," Foreign Ministry spokesman Zheng Shuang said in a statement.
China expressed dissatisfaction with the incident and vowed to "raise the issue with the US side."
Beijing noted that what Washington calls "free shipping" in the South China Sea was carried out without the authorization of China, which has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha (Spratly) islands and surrounding waters.
"The US provocation pushed the Chinese side to take measures that would further strengthen national defense capabilities," the Chinese Foreign Ministry said
