NEW YORK (Reuters) - North Korea is ready to test ballistic missiles from a submarine, according to a North Korean military expert, amid rising tensions with the United States.
North Korea's defense and intelligence expert Joseph Bermudez posted photos on the North 38 website of Johns Hopkins University in Washington, which he said were probably showing preparations for testing a SLBM.
"Recent images of an (industrial) moon reveal many developments indicating that North Korea may accelerate the development of the maritime part of its nuclear forces," he said.
US President Donald Trump vowed again Friday to use force against North Korea, saying the military option was "ready for implementation" despite China's call for restraint in an effort to quell the unprecedented war of words between Washington and Pyongyang.
"The military solutions have now been fully developed and are ready for implementation if North Korea behaves without wisdom," Trump wrote on Twitter.
We hope that (North Korean leader) Kim Jong-un will find another path! "
The official Korean News Agency (KCNA) responded to him as a "hateful man obsessed with nuclear war."
"Trump is leading the situation on the Korean peninsula to the brink of nuclear war," she said
