Ankara: Independence of Iraqi Kurdistan means instability in the region

Turkish government spokesman Bakr Bouzdag said Kurdish independence violated the Iraqi Constitution and fueled instability in the region.
"The Kurdish region in Iraq ignores the warnings of Turkey and the United States to postpone the referendum scheduled for September 25," Buzdag told a news conference in Ankara. "The referendum will contribute to destabilizing the region."
He stressed that the decision to proceed with the referendum is a violation of the Iraqi constitution
