Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman al-Thani arrived in Kuwait on Wednesday for an official visit which was not announced in advance, the official KUNA news agency reported.
Head of Qatari Diplomacy at Capital Airport Kuwait was received by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Al-Jarallah, Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol Affairs Ambassador Dhari Al-Ajran and a number of senior officials of the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry.
He was received by the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in the presence of Crown Prince Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Al-Thani conveyed to the Kuwaiti Emir a written message from the Emir of the State of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, concerning "good brotherly relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples and the latest developments on the regional and international arenas."
The meeting was attended by the Advisor at the Emiri Diwan Mohammed Dhaifallah Sharar, the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Acting Minister of Information Mohammed Al Abdullah Al Mubarak Al Sabah and Deputy Foreign Minister Khalid Sulaiman Al-Jarallah.
This is the first visit by the Qatari foreign minister since the Emir of Kuwait sent in early August letters to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the UAE, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar, including a new Kuwaiti initiative to resolve the diplomatic crisis that broke out in the Gulf, The United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt signed their relations with Qatar on June 5 and took punitive measures against Doha
