    US Defense Secretary James Matisse arrived in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Tuesday, days after the start of the military operation to liberate the district of Tal Afar from an advocacy organization .
    According to Reuters, the visit of the US Defense Secretary comes at this time for talks with Iraqi leaders on the next steps in the fight against the organization calling for the terrorist .

    (AFP) - US Defense Secretary James Matisse said that militants who have been urging the terrorist have been stranded for the moment, after they have been besieged on the Euphrates River dividing Iraq and Syria.

    The London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Arab reported on Tuesday the objectives of US Defense Secretary Jim Matisse's visit to Iraq, saying it would discuss the reconstruction and return of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis forcibly displaced from their homes and cities by the fighting.

    "During his visit, Matisse will hold talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi and senior Iraqi officials, as well as the president of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Massoud Barzani, adding that he wants to help the regime remain focused on defeating Da'ash fighters.

    "Our focus now is on defeating Iraq in Iraq and re-imposing Iraqi sovereignty and territorial integrity," Matisse told reporters before the visit.

    On the course of the battle, Matisse said, "The days of a certain number of sure, but it is not over yet and will not end soon."

    He stressed that the restoration of Mosul would not have happened "without the steadfastness of Prime Minister Abadi in the restructuring of the army, which was dispersed in 2014, the army he inherited, but that return was also based critically on intensive training and planning and firearm support from the US military" .

    Matisse, on a five-day tour that includes Jordan, Iraq, Turkey and Ukraine, said he would also discuss the reconstruction and return of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis forcibly displaced from their homes and cities by the fighting, especially in Mosul.

    "It will not be overnight, it will be a great help for them to move forward," he said.
