    [rtl]Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced that his country has abandoned its dollar peg in the sale of oil and replaced it with the Chinese yuan.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]"US President Donald Trump has imposed illegal and illogical sanctions against Venezuela," Maduro said, adding that "now we have many oil-laden ships destined for the United States and because of the sanctions imposed on us by Washington, American buyers can not pay. "We need protection and to preserve our rights."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Maduro had announced his intention on September 8 to trade in another global currency alternative to the dollar.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]On September 14, 2017, Venezuelan oil traders turned to dealing with the euro instead of the dollar in the sale of oil as a way to circumvent US sanctions imposed on allegations of human rights abuses and Caracas illegal elections.[/rtl]
