Oil Minister Jabbar al-Allaibi instructed the North Oil Company and the Nineveh Oilfields Authority to set up an urgent plan to qualify and increase production from these fields.
"The importance of rehabilitating Nineveh province's fields and resuming production in the coming months is aimed at covering the local need for refineries, power plants and meeting the needs of liberated cities," a ministry statement said.
The plan aims to "produce more than 30 thousand barrels per day during the next few months."
