    Saudi Arabia's King Salman called on Thursday to step up joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism and to drain its sources of funding.
    In a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin after the summit, Salman said Saudi Arabia has called for the establishment of an international counterterrorism center at the United Nations and has worked to establish the Islamic Military Coalition to Combat Terrorism, 41 Islamic states, in addition to the establishment of the World Center for extremist thought in Riyadh.
    The Saudi monarch praised the depth and strength of the Russian-Saudi relations, the consensus in regional and international issues as well as the continuous coordination in all fields, which will enhance security and prosperity in our countries and the service of international peace and security. Stability in global markets and serve global economic growth, the Middle East News Agency reported.
    On the Palestinian issue, King Salman stressed the need to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, stressing that the Arab peace initiative and international legitimacy is the reference to reach a comprehensive and just peace, which guarantees the right of the Palestinian people to establish its independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. It is essential to achieve global security and stability, which requires Iran's commitment to stop its interference in the affairs of the region and to destabilize security and stability there.
    Salman said: "We emphasize the importance of the political solution to the Yemeni crisis according to the Gulf initiative and the executive regulation and the results of the Yemeni national dialogue and Security Council resolution 2216, and what preserves Yemen and its unity and achieve its security and stability."
    On the Syrian crisis, Salman stressed that Saudi Arabia is called upon to work to end the crisis in accordance with the Geneva resolutions (1) and Security Council Resolution 2254, and to find a political solution that will guarantee security and stability and preserve Syria's unity and territorial integrity.
    Salman called on the international community to shoulder its responsibilities with regard to the crisis of the Rohingya Muslims who have fled the violence in Myanmar and to find a solution to protect against the violence and violations they have suffered and to alleviate their suffering.
    Maintaining Iraq's unity, territorial integrity and unifying its internal front is important to fight terrorism, he said.
    King Salman also called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit Saudi Arabia to complete consultations between the two countries on issues of common concern and to boost bilateral cooperation in all fields.
