    Prime Minister Haider Abadi wrapped up a two-day visit to the French capital Paris on Friday, during which he met French President Emmanuel Macaron and a number 
    of officials. 
    Abadi, who arrived at the head of the ministerial delegation, last Wednesday evening, to Paris at the official invitation of French President Macaron, during which he discussed a number of political and security files and the latest regional and international developments. 
    Abadi met at the Elysee Palace, French President Manuel Macaron, then chaired a joint meeting, followed by a press conference announcing the files discussed during that 
    visit. 
    Abadi said, "the pride of Iraq at the level reached by the bilateral relations and the great opportunities for development in the economic and trade fields," thanking the French government, the "
    Abadi announced the liberation of the province of Hawija, stressing the continuation of cooperation between the two countries in the field of the elimination of the organization is calling. 
    And on the crisis of the referendum in the Kurdistan region, Abadi stressed that "our concern is to maintain the sovereignty of Iraq in the light of the Iraqi constitution, which voted by the Iraqis, including the Kurds," noting that the referendum of the region out of the Constitution and international consensus. 
    "We must restore the authority of the federal state to the region and all Iraq," he said, calling on the Peshmerga forces to "fight side by side with the Iraqi army to achieve security and stability under the leadership of the federal authority." 
    For his part, McCron said during the press conference, that "his country wants the stability of Iraq and its integrity and that there is a strong state," expressing "France's readiness to mediate between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government."
    McCron reiterated his country's "full commitment in the framework of the coalition to help Iraq to eliminate the organization is urging," and pointed out that "the coming months will be decisive in order to win this 
    battle." 
    "We talked during the meetings held on the economic and political challenges that should be faced in Iraq," McCron said, adding that "France supports national reconciliation in Iraq among all components, including the Kurds." 
    Later, Abadi met with the French Minister of the Armed Forces, Florence Barley, and discussed with her the frameworks of cooperation and coordination in the field of security and military. 
    Abadi stressed during the meeting that "Iraq looks forward to broader cooperation with the French side in the field of armaments, training and cooperation in the field of 
    intelligence."
    For her part, said the French armed forces minister, "its readiness to meet all the needs of Iraqi forces in relation to weapons, training and support in the field of intelligence." 
    Al-Abbadi and his accompanying delegation also met senior French business leaders to discuss investment opportunities in various fields in Iraq. 
    Prime Minister Haider al-Abbadi said during a meeting held at the headquarters of the French employers' organization that "the liberation operations are aimed at achieving stability and launching a reconstruction campaign for all the Iraqi provinces, especially the liberated ones, which we succeeded in moving to the stage of construction."
