    [ltr]Follow up of Mawazine News[/ltr]
[ltr]Royal Dutch Shell's results on Thursday showed a 47 percent year-on-year jump in profits to $ 4.1 billion in the third quarter, beating expectations, boosted by gains in oil refining and commercial operations.[/ltr]
[ltr]However, cash flow from operations fell in the third quarter by 11 percent year-on-year to $ 7.58 billion, ending a six-quarter-long spike as cost-cutting measures began to emerge.[/ltr]
[ltr]"The three Shell sectors have contributed to this strong set of results," said Ben van Borden, chief executive of the company.[/ltr]
[ltr]Net profit attributable to shareholders in the third quarter was based on the cost of current supplies and exclusions of exceptional items of $ 4.1 billion compared to $ 2.8 billion in the same period last year and an average of analysts' estimates of $ 3.62 billion.[/ltr]
[ltr]The world's largest oil companies have been adjusting to falling oil prices since the collapse of prices in 2014 through a sharp cut in spending and jobs as well as exit from investments.[/ltr]
[ltr]Shell and most of its peers can now make profits as the price of oil reaches about $ 50 a barrel and again focuses on the development of its business.[/ltr]
[ltr]BP resumed its repurchase this week after a three-year hiatus in a sign that the austerity measures had borne fruit.[/ltr]
