    Information / Baghdad ..
Japan has detected radio signals that North Korea may be preparing for a new test on a ballistic missile, although such signals are normal and satellite images have shown no new activities, a Japanese government source said on Tuesday.
After firing rockets at a rate of about two or three rockets a month since April, North Korea stopped firing any missiles in September after Pyongyang fired a missile over Japan's northern island of Hokkaido.
Japan's Kyodo news agency said late on Monday that the Japanese government was on alert after picking up radio signals, suggesting a launch could take place within a few days.
South Korean Yonhap news agency quoted a government source as saying that intelligence officials from the United States, South Korea and Japan had recently detected signs of a possible missile test and raised the alert status.
When asked about these media reports, Pentagon spokesman Robert Manning told reporters that the United States continued to monitor North Korea closely. Ending / 25
