"The national industry in Iraq is in danger in light of the continued indiscriminate importation," the minister of industry and minerals Mohamed Shiaa al-Sudani said.
"Iraq needs the efforts of all segments of society in the next stage to save and promote the national product, which is in line with the country's economic conditions," al-Sudani said in a press statement.
Al-Sudani complained about the weak cooperation of ministries and government agencies with the national product, which is manufactured by companies of the Ministry of Industry, despite the fact that its specifications match international standards.
He added that "the direction of the ministry in the next phase focuses on strengthening partnership with the private sector to promote the local product."
