    BAGHDAD / The Integrity Commission announced on Sunday that the Criminal Court for Integrity Issues issued a 15-year sentence in absentia to the director of the Rafidain Bank, the former branch of reconstruction and housing, citing the reason for exploiting its function to cause intentional damage to public funds.
    The court said in a statement received by "Eye of Iraq News" that "the Criminal Court on the issues of integrity in Baghdad sentenced in absentia to 15 years in prison on the defendant Karama Hassan Alwan," asserting that "the fugitive conviction caused damage to public funds worth (1,400,808,099) billion Dinars through the agreement and participation with other defendants to buy four forged instruments on the basis that they were withdrawn from the General Company for the phosphate of one of the accused while working as the director of Rafidain Branch of reconstruction and housing.
    The court added that "the court after reviewing the statements of the legal representative of the Rafidain Bank, who requested the complaint against the fugitive accused, and the administrative investigation that recommended its negligence, in addition to the instruments and the priorities of the exchange and the presumption of escape, reached sufficient conviction and convictions based on the provisions of Article 315 / Of the Penal Code in terms of Articles 47, 48 and 49, "indicating that" the ruling included the issuance of an arrest warrant against the fugitive conviction, and the fundamental search for the right, in addition to supporting the custody of its movable and immovable property, and to keep the affected bank Rafidain right Claim for compensation before the civil courts after the judgment has been rendered determinative.     The Integrity Commission announced on Sunday that a director of one of the Rafidain Bank's branches, Karama Hassan Alwan, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for causing damage to public money of one billion and 400 million dinars.
