    The US Embassy in Iraq announced the establishment of training workshops to strengthen the financial and banking sector in Iraq.

    A statement issued today said the Agency has received {forat news} "Mission of the United States in Iraq work through financial development project of the u.s. Agency for international development, with the Iraqi banking sector to assist banks in providing the best services".

    "The US delegation called for 7 banks from across Iraq to attend a training workshop was held for the period of {21-28 month} and is the first of 20 training workshop will support banks and financial services sectors.

    The statement quoted representatives of Ashur participated in the workshop as saying that "issues of credit and finance new in Iraq, where the training provided us with technical information and practical skills to understand how to expand our business in this sector."

    Director of the Office said Iraq's u.s. Agency for international development, Thomas Stahl "we are excited about this type of training for the banking sector, and is part of our efforts to help the Iraqi banking system update to be available for all Iraqi citizens."

    "In addition to this group of banking and financial training workshops, financial development project and international donors seeking to establish {Academy for banking and financial Sciences in Iraq} that this Academy will provide sustained support over the long term, and will enhance the ability of the local banking system and contribute to the establishment of a modern banking sector works smoothly and serve as a foundation for Iraq's growing economy".

    The statement said that the "financial development project of the u.s. Agency for international development is an important embodiment of the strategic framework agreement between the United States and Iraq project envisages supporting the banking sector to be more dynamic, that would expand economic opportunities and prosperity for the Iraqi people." over
