The Saudi authorities released two sons of the late King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz after they were held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, days after the release of more than 20 detainees in the kingdom's two-month campaign to "fight corruption" .
"The Saudi attorney general agreed to release Prince Mish'al bin Abdullah and Prince Faisal bin Abdullah after they reached a financial settlement with the government," a Saudi official told Reuters.
The official did not give details of the compromises, but added that the prosecutor had not yet decided on the release of a third brother, Prince Turki bin Abdullah.
The Saudi authorities released Prince Meteb bin Abdullah, the most powerful son of King Abdullah and former head of the National Guard, last month after agreeing to pay one billion dollars to the government.
Saudi security forces detained some 200 Emir, a minister and a businessman and turned the Ritz-Carlton into a luxury prison in early November as part of what Riyadh called a crackdown on corruption.
Analysts widely said the campaign was aimed at helping Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman strengthen his grip on power after his cousin Prince Mohammed bin Nayef was removed from the crown prince during the summer. Finished
