(International: Al-Furat News) Russia on Monday described the events in Iran as an "internal affair," stressing that external interference in its affairs is "unacceptable."
"We hope that there will be no internal developments in Iran accompanied by riots in accordance with the scenario of violence and bloodshed," the Interfax news agency quoted Russian Foreign Ministry sources as saying.
"External interference, which is causing tension in Iranian affairs, is unacceptable," the sources said, without naming the agency.
Some Iranian cities have witnessed in recent days in protest against the economic situation and the high cost of living, which was accompanied by anti-government slogans
