US newspaper: Trump will be questioned within weeks

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump may be questioned shortly before the special prosecutor, Robert Mueller, who is leading the investigation into Russian presidential intervention, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
"Trump is expected to be questioned for several weeks," the paper quoted a source from the prosecutor's team as saying.
In the same investigation, Muller charged Michael Fellen, the former White House national security adviser, and Paul Manavort, campaign manager for Trump.
The charges also included Rick Gates, Trump's assistant, and George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser during the campaign.
Earlier, Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to "false statements and information" about his meeting with Russian FBI officials, while Manavort and Gates rejected the charges against them.
As the FBI pointed out, "Flynn is continuing with the Russian ambassador at the request of a senior official during the presidential transition between Trump and his predecessor, Barack Obama."
Muller began investigations into the Russian intervention via cyber attacks in the US presidential election in November 2016, as well as congressional investigations in this regard.
