(Baghdad: Al-Furat News) Minister of Migration and Displaced Jassem Mohammed Al-Jaf announced the repatriation of 2.5 million displaced people to their liberated areas.
"The High Committee for Relief and Shelter for Refugees (IDRC) chaired the regular meeting of the Higher Committee for Displaced Persons held at the headquarters of the General Company for Passenger Transport and Delegations in Baghdad and in the presence of Governors of Anbar and Nineveh to discuss the situation of displaced families returning to their areas of origin and stability file, In the liberated areas and unify efforts with all sectoral ministries to restore natural life and return displaced persons. "
"The Ministry of Transport has a large and distinguished role in the evacuation and transfer of displaced families to the shelter camps during the liberation process, as well as its distinguished role in transporting the families from the shelter camps to their original areas," the minister said.
He pointed out that "the cadres of the Ministry of Transport and in coordination with the Ministry of Displacement and Migration and the leadership of joint operations and the concerned authorities transferred and returned about two and a half million displaced to their liberated areas."
He explained that "the file of displaced persons and returnees is the main concern of the Ministry of Displacement and Migration and the Higher Committee for Relief and Shelter of the displaced and that its work continues to provide all the necessary necessities for them until they are returned to their areas of origin."
"The return operations are continuing at a very high pace, especially in Anbar province and Nineveh," he said, noting that "good procedures are in full swing in the province of Kirkuk for the return of the displaced to the province of Hawija, especially to the outskirts of Daqouk and Tuz."
