    [rtl]US crude boosted gains in thin trading yesterday as the dollar tumbled to a three-year low as many Asian markets closed for the Lunar New Year holiday .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]US crude for March delivery futures rose 29 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $ 61.63 a barrel after touching a week high of $ 61.82 a barrel. On a weekly basis, the contract rose 4 percent after losing nearly 10 percent last week .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Global Brent crude <LCOc1> rose 30 cents, or 0.5 percent, to $ 64.63 a barrel after falling three cents in the previous settlement and Brent crude soaring nearly 3 percent since the weekend, after falling more than 8 percent last week .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl] In Russia, the central bank said in a statement that the global agreement to cut oil production between OPEC and non-OPEC members to push the price of crude to rise, may negatively affect the country's economy this year .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and other major exporters, including Russia, have agreed to maintain common restrictions on crude supplies for the second year to reduce stockpiles and support prices. Russia says it cuts oil production by 300,000 barrels a day from its peak of 11.247 million barrels per day in October 2016. The bank said the losses would affect the economy as a whole .[/rtl]
