    The member of the parliamentary legal committee Zana Said, on Tuesday, the sanctions contained in the proposed law to prevent the firing of firecrackers, which ended the parliament's first reading more than two weeks ago, noting that the law is admissible but needs to be precise formulations address the phenomenon. 

    Said said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "The launch of firecrackers in the joys and sorrows in Iraq has become a negative social phenomenon and must be addressed by law as a result of the negative damage caused by either waste public money or threaten the lives of people and their property," noting that "the proposal completed reading him and will work To criminalize such unacceptable acts 

    Said said that "the firing of shots without causing harm to others is punishable by fine and imprisonment and confiscation of weapons and to the launch of caliber that may cause material damage must be added to the previous penalty to compensate for these damages." 

    "If the firing of firecrackers can cause the death of a person, the crime becomes a wrong death and may reach confinement," he said. "The application of the law when legislated requires a comprehensive awareness campaign because its application is not easy to deal with. Media ". 

    He added that "Iraqi laws in fact prevent these phenomena and there are decisions and instructions from the Ministry of Interior in this regard, but accountability and compliance with these instructions is small," stressing that "the law does not have a political or sectarian formula and has acceptability, but need accurate formulations address the phenomenon."

    "The law did not deal with firework and was confined to firecrackers," he said. "If a proposal is made by some members to include fireworks, it can be discussed." 

    The House of Representatives, completed its session held, Sunday (February 11, 2018) read a report and discussion of the proposed law to prevent the firing of shots.
