[ltr]MOSCOW (Reuters) - More than 105,000 civilians have left the eastern Ghouta near the capital Damascus since the truce began in late February, Russian media reported on Saturday.[/ltr]
[ltr]The Russian Interfax news agency quoted Major General Vladimir Zolotokhin, spokesman for the Russian Center for Reconciliation between the Parties to the Conflict in Syria, as saying that more than 700 civilians left the eastern gout of Syria on Saturday.[/ltr]
[ltr]Zolotokhin explained that the exit of civilians from al-Ghouta, Saturday, was through the area of refugee camp this morning.[/ltr]
[ltr]The evacuation comes on Saturday, the day after the departure of hundreds of fighters from the faction, "Ahrar al-Sham" on two rounds of the city of Harasta on the basis of an agreement with the Russian side.[/ltr]
[ltr]More than 4,000 people, including more than 1,400 fighters, were released on Thursday and Friday, according to official Syrian television, which announced on Friday evening that "Harasta is free from the terrorist presence."[/ltr]
[ltr]The evacuation enabled the regime to extend its control to more than 90 percent of the area under the control of the factions, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.[/ltr]
