Iraq: Israel's dangerous military escalation in Gaza is a new violation of international law
The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Saturday condemned the use of bullets by the Israeli occupation forces in the face of peaceful demonstrations in the Gaza Strip.
"We condemn and condemn the Israeli occupation forces' use of bullets in the face of peaceful demonstrations in the Gaza Strip on the anniversary of the Land Day, which led to the death of a number of martyrs and hundreds of wounded unarmed Palestinians," ministry spokesman Ahmed Mahgoub said in a statement.
"The Israeli military escalation is a flagrant breach of international conventions and laws," Mahjoub said.
He said that "Iraq's support for the Palestinian people and its steadfast and permanent position in support of the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the Palestinian people to ensure the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital."
