    The Health and Environment Committee of the Parliament, the Ministries of Health and Finance held responsibility for the lack of availability of drugs for leukemia patients and delayed importation, revealing that the Committee addressed the Council of Ministers with an urgent letter in order to form a committee to expedite the importation of medicines. 

    "The main reason for the lack of drugs for leukemia patients is that the Ministry of Finance has not paid the allocations for medicines until now," said former Health Minister Saleh al-Hasnawi. 

    He added that "the Ministry of Health is also responsible for the routine procedures in the contract and not to exclude the order of those excess rings," noting that "the case of leukemia patients are critical and likely to lose their lives if the treatment is available urgently."

    He explained that "the Committee on Health and Environment in the Parliament addressed the Council of Ministers with an urgent letter to form a competent and urgent committee representatives of the Ministries of Health and Finance and representatives of the Health Committee of the Parliament and the Council of Ministers to launch the allocations and the exception of import procedures and routine treatment to provide drugs quickly." 

    The head of the Association of leukemia patients in Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Jaafar, announced on Sunday the intention of patients and the Assembly to organize a mass rally in front of the Green Zone in central Baghdad on Monday to demand the provision of financial allowances for treatment, revealing the presence of 2250 infected people in the country.
