    MOSCOW (Reuters) - The S-300 systems could be used to boost Syrian air defense, the head of the Russian Federation's Defense and Security Committee, Victor Bondarev, said Wednesday.

    [rtl]Bondarev noted that Russia could help Syria establish a modern and highly effective air defense system.[/rtl]

    [rtl]He noted the possibility of establishing a highly efficient air defense system in Syria, with the help of Russia, to protect military and civilian facilities.[/rtl]

    [rtl]"I think that the availability of highly effective defense weapons in any modern country will wipe out the hotheads of all, not just military and NATO generals," he said.[/rtl]

    [rtl]The head of the main operations department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Sergey Rodzkoy has announced the possibility of supplying S-300 systems to Syria after the Western attack, while Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed this possibility.[/rtl]
