BAGHDAD (Reuters ) - Seven US states have asked the court to rescind a program to protect illegal immigrants from deportation, known as Dhaka, Texas
Attorney General Kean Paxton said Wednesday . "Our claims are about the rule of law, not about the quality of this or that migration policy," Paxton said. According to him, the "Dhaka" creates a dangerous precedent, when the executive authorities allocate themselves the powers contrary to the laws, approved by Congress .
The Dhaka program allows nearly 800,000 immigrants in the United States without legal papers to study and work.

The program was initiated by former US President Barack Obama , with the aim of allowing immigrant children with no residency in the United States to circumvent their illegal status, allow them to study and work, and prevent their deportation.

The program is the cause of a heated debate. At present, the current president of the United States, Donald Trump , has expressed conflicting views on the program.
