Gold prices rebounded slightly on Wednesday, helped by the coverage of city centers after falling prices to their lowest levels this year in the previous session due to the rise in US bond yields and the dollar's rise.
At 0639 GMT the spot price of gold was up 0.3 percent at $ 1294.30 an ounce after losing 1.7 percent and hitting its lowest level for the year at $ 1288.31 in the previous session.
It was also the lowest price for the yellow metal since December 28.
US gold futures for June delivery rose 0.3 percent to $ 1293.60 an ounce.
Silver rose 0.4 percent in spot trade to $ 16.30 a troy ounce after falling 1.6 percent on Tuesday, its biggest one-day loss since April 23.
Platinum rose 0.4 percent to $ 897 an ounce, while palladium dropped 0.1 percent to $ 981.72 an ounce after hitting the previous day's biggest one-day loss in two weeks and 1.3 percent.
