Gold has fallen as the Washington and Pyongyang summit approaches
Follow - up / ... fell gold futures in trading Monday, despite the decline in the dollar, amid calm geopolitical tensions between the United States and North Korea, near the historic summit between the two officials.
US President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that a team from his country would arrive in North Korea to finalize arrangements for a summit with North Korean President Kim Jong-un in Singapore next June.
Gold futures for August delivery fell 0.53 percent ($ 7) at $ 1302 an ounce.
Spot gold delivery fell 0.46 percent ($ 6.36) to $ 1295.89 an ounce.
The dollar index, which measures the move of the greenback against a basket of six currencies, fell 0.36 percent to 93.87, falling from a high of 2018.
Among other precious metals, silver fell 0.07 percent to $ 16.48 an ounce, while platinum rose 0.14 percent to $ 902.38 an ounce. Finished
