WASHINGTON (Reuters) - US President Donald Trump threatened to send Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the G7 summit in Canada to send 25 million Mexican immigrants to Japan, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
The G7 summit failed after Trump abruptly withdrew from its final communique and launched a strong attack on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The Wall Street Journal quoted European officials who were behind the summit, saying Trump's counterparts were resentful of statements he made about trade, terrorism and immigration.
"I do not have this problem, but I can send you 25 million Mexicans and get out of your office very soon," Trump said, according to a European official.
