    Two of the US F-35s were received at a ceremony held at Lockheed Martin headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.
    "As Turkey continues to serve the interests of world peace and security, as a committed and reliable NATO ally, access to the F-35 will help protect our security and the territorial integrity of our country," said Sardar Demirel, the official in the Turkish defense sector.
    For his part, the representative of the Turkish General Staff at the ceremony that the supply of the F-35, opens a new chapter in the history of the Turkish air force, and that Turkey will provide higher operational capabilities of NATO after the acquisition of these aircraft.

    The two planes are scheduled to be flown to Locke Air Force Base in Arizona, where Turkish pilots will be trained.

    The Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Javishoglu has confirmed that the first aircraft will be transferred to Turkey in 2020.

    Turkey is expected to receive more than 100 aircraft as part of the deal with Lockheed Martin.
