One of the most dangerous countries for children in the world are Iraq and Myanmar

The United Nations announced the registration of more than ten thousand cases of killing and mutilation of children due to armed conflicts in the world last year 2017, noting the detention of 1,036 children in Iraq on issues related to international security.

The World Organization said in an annual report entitled "Children and Armed Conflict", it monitored 21 thousand violations of children's rights, which is a significant increase compared to the previous year.

"Among the most dangerous countries for children in the world are Iraq, Myanmar, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, Syria and Yemen," the report said.

About half of the 811 cases of child deaths in Nigeria were caused by terrorist attacks. Some were used as "human bombs", and more than 1,900 children were detained in the country on suspicion of links to relatives of the militant Boko Haram group.

The World Organization also recorded the detention of 1036 children in Iraq on issues related to international security, while at least 1221 children were recruited by the conflict in southern Sudan.

In Somalia, the UN report recorded the abduction of more than 1,600 children by militants of the extremist al-Shabaab movement, some of whom were detained while others were sexually assaulted.

The State Department announced Thursday that Iraq, Iran, Myanmar and Niger had been added to countries exploiting children.
