    Central Bureau of Statistics: Unemployment rate among Iraqi youth reached 22.6%

    The Central Bureau of Statistics announced Thursday that the unemployment rate among young people in Iraq reached 22.6%.
    "The unemployment rate among young people between the ages of 15 to 29 years was 22.6 percent, higher than the national average of 74 percent," the ministry of planning said in a statistical report. 18.1%, while female unemployment reached 56.3%.
    "The rate of participation of youth in the labor force has reached 36.1%," the agency said, noting that "young males accounted for 61.6% compared to 8.8% for young females."
    The International Monetary Fund announced in May 2018 that the rate of youth unemployment in Iraq is more than 40%, while Qatar ranked first at least in unemployment.
