US Ambassador: The Golan will always remain under Israeli sovereignty and will not be returned to Syria
said the US ambassador to Tel Aviv , David Friedman , the Golan Heights will always be "under Israeli sovereignty" and will not be returned to Syria . "He can not imagine a situation where the Golan Heights are not part of Israel forever,
" Friedman said in an interview with Israel Today.
Friedman also stressed that US President Donald Trump will not back down from recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, ruling out that any future US administration would rescind this decision.
"Giving up the Golan can put Israel in a big security spiral," he said. "I can not think of someone who is more worthy of such a prize than Bashar Assad . I expect the current situation to stay."
