The Iranian judiciary is punishing those who insult Iraqi visitors
Iran's judiciary chief, Sadiq Larijani, has warned all his country, especially those heading to the northeastern city of Mashhad, after Iranian reports of Iraqis exploiting and having sex with Iranian girls.
"We will punish all media outlets that raise sensitivities between the Iranian and Iraqi people," Larijani said in a speech quoted by the Mezan news agency of the judiciary in front of a number of senior judges in Iran. "The prosecutor of Tehran has accused anyone who tries to cause a rift between the Iranian and Iraqi people, .
Larijani refused to circulate charges against Iraqi tourists and visitors to the city of Mashhad. He said: "The generalization of some irregularities against all Iraqi visitors in the city of Mashhad is a crime we will hold accountable for those who commit it. Unfortunately, some seem unaware that the enemy is causing sedition."
