    Iraq agrees with an Italian company to implement a water project in Basra

    Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi announced on Wednesday an agreement with Italy's Eni to implement a desalination plant at the Bardaia water station in Basra.
    Al-Allaibi said in a statement that "it was agreed with the company to start the project desalination plant in order to pump drinking water for citizens and all the beneficiaries of that station."
    Al-Allaibi said that "the period of completion of the work takes four months, stressing that he required the execution company to comply with the timing of the implementation period."
    In a related context, he added that "an agreement was reached with ExxonMobil on the installation of new pumps in the project of the Shatt al-Arab to divert the pumping water to (R0), indicating that the directives were also obligating Exxon Mobil to extend a pipe from the station of two handbooks to the Shatt al-Arab To enhance the amount of water pumped to citizens. "
