Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari received on Monday an official invitation to visit the Syrian capital Damascus to open new horizons for joint cooperation.
"Al-Jaafari met Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem in the context of the 73rd session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York," a statement from Jaafari's office said.
"The two sides stressed the importance of concerted efforts and cooperation in order to enhance the security, stability of the region and the elimination of terrorism," the statement added.
"The teacher is an official invitation to Jaafari to visit Damascus in the framework of opening new horizons for joint cooperation." Ending / 25
