Amid sharp debate among various political circles, Iraqi Prime Minister-designate Adel Abdul-Mahdi closed the electronic window to run for office in his next government.
According to well-informed political sources, of the 36,000 applicants for ministerial posts online, about 200 are highly qualified and are from home abroad.
Among the most prominent applicants through the electronic window, Sharif Ali bin Al Hussein, patron of the constitutional monarchy in Iraq and heir to the former throne of the Foreign Affairs portfolio.
The sources say that Abdul Mahdi will study the CVs, and provide the most appropriate ones, for some political blocs to get their support, and to bring them to Parliament at the head of the new ministries, and get the confidence of the House of Representatives.
The applicants, who opened from Tuesday morning to Thursday afternoon, had to register their personal information, clarify their political orientation, and whether they belonged to any bloc or party, according to the instructions posted on the website.
The conditions for the submission stipulated that women and men were entitled to stand for election, provided they had a university degree or equivalent.
Candidates have the right to choose the portfolios they wish to fill and ask them to write a summary of their vision of "successful leadership" and "how to effectively manage teams".
Applicants were also asked to give their views on how they would deal with the problems facing the ministries of their choice and the practical solutions they would choose to do.
The heir to Iraq's throne, Sharif Ali bin al-Hussein, patron of the constitutional monarchy in Iraq, himself, as foreign minister through the electronic window, to become so far months of nominated himself through this method.
Sharif was the last of the royal family to be killed on July 14, 1958, when he was outside Al-Rehab Palace at the time.
