Merkel to Abdul Mahdi: ready to provide more support for Iraq during the next stage

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday assured Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi that Germany is ready to provide more support to Iraq in the coming stage.
"The prime minister received a cable of congratulations from German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the occasion of the formation of the government," a statement from Abdul Mahdi's office said.
Merkel said, according to the cable, that "Germany's confidence continues in close partnership with Iraq," stressing that "her country is ready to provide more support during the next phase."
"Germany supports the new government in various fields to overcome the challenges ahead." Ending / 25
